Banning State Park

Banning State Park is a beautiful park located about 12 miles from Giese B&B. The park offers challenging Kayaking and Canoeing (see below) and hiking/cross-country skiing trails. For more information follow this link.

Kayaking and Canoeing

The Kettle River in Banning State Park (see above) offers challenging rapids for canoeists and kayakers. For those who prefer a more mellow environment, access to Big Pine Lake is about three miles from the B&B and legendary Lake Mille Lacs is about 18 miles away.

Biking

Hinckley Fire State Trail (part of Willard Munger Trail system) runs through the eastern part of Finlayson. For more information follow this link.

Mountain biking and paved trails are available in Jay Cooke State Park in Carlton, Minnesota (about 50 minutes from the B&B).
